Netflix is on a roll. I mean they mean business. The trailer for the highly anticipated adaptation of the novel "Beasts of No Nation" by Nigerian - American author Uzodinma Iweala has arrived and it is filled with so much promise.
Directed by the masterful Cary Fukunaga (Jane Eyre, True Detective) and starring the always charismatic Idris Elba alongside newcomer Abraham Attah as child soldier Agu (he looks phenomenal in the few scenes we see him in the trailer). The movie also stars British Ghanaian actress Ama K. Abebrese, (a regular feature in director, Leila Djansi's movies). I really like the stripped down, almost documentary like aesthetic Fukunaga seems to be going for here and I anticipate a gripping story, with great peformances all around.
Beasts of No Nation premieres in select theatres and Netflix on October 16
